SIA is the successful airline in Singapore. It has a diversed airline related business including SAT, airport terminal services and subsidiary airlines such as Silkair, Tiger Airways and Scoot.

This had enables at least two companies to start the airline operation, namely TATA-SIA airlines and AirAsia- TATA. The TATA-SIA joint venture is planning to acquire 20 A320s with the net value of about USD1.8bil.
